Halloween Costume Donation Drive
The West Clay Elementary Green Team and Girl Scout Troop #1390 is collecting gently-used and new Halloween costumes to donate to needy children who would not otherwise have the chance to enjoy the holiday. Costumes will be collected in the main offices of West Clay Elementary and College Wood Elementary, as well as at Indy Dental Group, 12720 Meeting House Rd. in the Village of West Clay, from Oct 3-14.

Corpse Manor – An Awesome Haunted Attraction – is offering a FREE combo ticket to any student or adult who pre-registers for the 3rd Annual Ghosts & Goblins 5K/2K, October 29, starting at 8:30 a.m. To get your free admission ($20 value) to all three attractions (Corpse Manor, Night Shadows Sinister Woods), print out and bring your Ghosts & Goblins 5K or 2K registration confirmation to Corpse Manor during the month of October. Discount for Secondary Students for Carmel Symphony Orchestra’s Stephen Kim Concert
The Carmel Symphony Orchestra announces its season opening concert, "Mendelssohn & Tchaikovsky," with violin prodigy Stephen Kim on Saturday, October 1, 7:30 pm at the Palladium. Stephen will play Mendelssohn’s famous Violin Concerto in E minor and the CSO will also perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony #5 and Beethoven’s Leonore Overture. Tickets for students through 8th grade are only $5 (KidsPASS) and high school/college students can purchase tickets the day of the show for $10 (RushPASS). Contact the Center for the Performing Arts at 843-3800 for ticket information.
Haunted Trails at Cool Creek Park – October 25, 26 & 27, 7-10PM
Who knows what unknown terror awaits you as you encounter the numerous Fright Stations along the darkened path in the deep woods of Cool Creek Park, located at 2000 E. 151st Street in Carmel/Westfield! Admission is still only $5! Entertainment and fun staged at trail’s beginning and lots of fun activities for kids under 12 in the Fright-Free Zone at trail’s end! FREE campfire and wagon rides as well! Join us…if you dare!

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreations Classes
First Fencers (Ages 6-8)
Want to introduce your child to a different sport than they might be used to? First Fencers teaches the disciplines of fencing in a more regimented and organized manner. This class will give your child the opportunity to understand fencing at a young age and progress to Fencing I. All equipment provided. No class on 10/19. Wednesdays, Oct 12-Nov 9 from 5:15-6:00pm. Fee is $70. MCC- Program Rms B&C
Fencing I (Ages 9+)
This introductory fencing class gives children and adults the opportunity to learn the history, traditions, basic footwork, and blade skills of the sport. With completion of this class you will be able to fence at a basic beginning level and will be ready to continue into the next level of Fencing. Due to the physical nature of fencing, please dress with athletic activity in mind. All equipment provided. No class on 10/17. Mondays, Oct 10-Nov 7 from 6:15-7:15pm. Fee is $85. MCC- Program Rms B&C
Fencing II (Ages 9+)
Have you or your child taken fencing before? If so, you can continue to advance your fencing skills in this class. Participants will increase the use of footwork, develop more blade skills, and basic refereeing will be introduced. You must have taken Fencing I or have the instructor's approval to enroll in this course. All equipment provided. No class on 10/17. Mondays, Oct 10-Nov 7 from 7:30-8:30pm. Fee is $85. MCC- Program Rms B&C
Open Fencing (Ages 9+)
If you have prior fencing experience and want to further develop your fencing skills then Open Fencing is right for you. Participants will practice with other students and everyone must warm-up prior to bouting. You must have taken Fencing I or have instructor's approval to enroll in this program. Participants may rent equipment at $20.00 per session or bring their own. No class on 10/21 and 11/25. Fridays, Oct 14-Nov 11 from 7:00-9:00pm. Fee is $85. MCC- Multi-Purpose Room
